Itty Bitty Portraits Blog bio picture

Welcome

Thank you for stopping by my blog, my little spot in the cyber sun where I like to share all the fun things happenening at Itty-Bitty Portraits!  So, you may wonder who I am... I am a small town girl, married to a hunkey guy, so very much in love with my two little girls who I could just squeeze the jelly out of.  I love babies, the miracle of birth and I love photographing children.  So here I am, chasing kiddo's around with a camera and capturing all those giggles, smiles, and grins that we live for.  So keep those fuzzy slippers on and enjoy some chubby cheeks and cute little smiles with your coffee this morning.

Billings Montana Baby & Child Photography

I have wanted to share this for over a year! Seriously life MUST slow down…. Anyways, I always hear my clients say, ” I just don’t know how to make my pictures look good in my house.”  So…. I will be offering some advise for all of you on how to bring all of those pretty pictures together in a display from time to time.

Now let me say, I love my “formal” family pictures, where we are dressed to the 9’s, kids faces are clean, outfits are matching, the whole works and through my ENTIRE house you will find the walls plastered with my girls, my hubby and I, the family…. you know how it is.  Well for our bedroom I wanted something personal to us, something casual (hence the naked babies)… we are pretty much the only ones who go in there so I wanted something that really reflected our daily life and what we love so much about it so I got 10- 11×14 pints printed on metallic paper to match our metallic paint on our walls then I had them mounted so they were ready to hang on the walls and this is what my cozy little-love-shack looks like now!  By the way, the first picture is taken with my “fish-eye” I really don’t have curved walls and a curved headboard!

Big Day! {Child Photographer Billings, MT}

Since I rarely have the chance to share sometime personal, here you go-

It was the dreaded day at our house, I was dreading Kindergarten.  I was, it was sad…. so sad!  My little baby who was at one point a 4 pound 14 ounce jaundiced 35 weeker, a baby  who I thought would never grow out of her 5 preemie outfits which I washed pretty much every day because… well… you know how many outfits babies go through.  Needless to say, our little girl has taught us more about life, faith and  love than we ever thought we would know!   You always think you are the ones teaching your kids about life and in all reality, they are teaching you.   Calli  had looked forward to school for the entire summer and today, we dropped her off and kissed her goodbye.  I know why every mom dreads that moment when they run to their friends and teacher and if your baby is like mine, they don’t look back!

When Calli was 9 Months old  I was defending my stance on why she should continue to have her binki to her pediatrician in Laramie and he offered some important advise, he said “Tina, sooner or later you will learn that parenting is about teaching your children how to be independent, teaching them how to survive on their own, make good decisions, be good people and thrive on their own.  Trust me, you don’t want Calli to NEED a binki  or NEED you.”  At the time I was a little dumbfounded, I thought “are you crazy??? I want her to always need me! ALWAYS!   YOU MY FRIEND ARE CRAZY, I CAN’T BELIEVE YOUR A DOCTOR!”   Then… I thought about how selfish that would be for her to need me for everything and need me to make every decision about life, I cant even tell you how many times Brian and I have talked about that conversation in that dr’s office. Every time we take another step closer to letting her go off on her own it seems to come up.  It was very useful and today I reminded myself of that.  I was happy I didn’t have to kick her off my leg, I was happy that she squealed when she looked across the playground and saw her friends, I have a social butterfly and I better love that!  Then it hit me….. I looked down at  Layla’s face when Calli left, I really hadn’t thought of how it would make Layla feel so when I looked down and she had those huge eyes all welled up with tears it made me very thankful that I my friends had planned ahead, I I wore my HUGE over-sized spy sunglasses (aka Aunt Myrna Shades.)     I did shed a few tears thinking of all the times I have seen them randomly hug or kiss out of the blue,  not to mention all the times I notice them holding hands.  I am glad today is over with, now it’s just part of life!  Baby steps right?  Here are my babies…. formal pictures coming soon!!! I actually have set some time aside to get my family in front of the camera!  p.s. thanks michelle for switching me so I could be there for my little-lady’s special day!
